Monday's Must Have - Lovey, Blankie, Binkie and More

I love to capture children, well, being children. Laughing, running, having fun. As much as I love those fun photographs, I also love their very serious and timid sides also. Young children aren't sure of me and my camera at first and don't want to be told to sit and smile for a photograph. I always tell parents its OK if your child want their favorite stuffed animal, blanket or even their binkie. It gives them time to relax and get comfortable with me. Although you probably didn't want the tattered old blanket or bear in your photos, one day you'll look back and cherish those photos. Children are little for such a short time, and eventually they won't need those comfort items. These photos will be a reminder of your child as that age, when they wouldn't go anywhere with out Midnight the Kitty or sleep without Lovey. So, trust me when I say, "its OK, let's get some photos with that"...you might be surprised how much they melt your heart. Here are some of my favorites...

Kennedy and Midnight...
Gracie and her Lovey...
Tiffany and her special "blankie"...
Stephen and his Frog

Awww, one of my favorite photos of Wes is one with him hugging his bear, Tess. And he has that same frog that Stephen has, he sleeps with it at school!

These are so sweet! And a great way to get children more comfortable during their session. Nice work.

I definitely think our daughters could be good subjects together - my daughter is the queen of chilaxing and she goes NO PLACE without her blanket...good thing the thumb is attached ;)
